El Serpent Lies in Wait

No matter the effort to suppress and surpass, pride always seems to find a hole to inject the toxins deep inside. Fairing the storm hoping for the sun to shine, wasn’t until after the last rain drop hit the deck, a realization, there’s no water in the bucket left to drink. Looking back at the clouds, licking sand paper induced lips, maybe under the lightning was exactly where the need was to be.

A struggle of survival, whether it be the wilderness or mental thought process, dancing under the clap of thunder while the bass rings the bell of faith in a sanctuary where the gospel sings out. Wanting answers, justice, or maybe some peace, it’s never found in the place it supposed to hang out. Self abandonment concerning the situation being played on the big screen, a look in the mirror shows the skeleton of reflection hiding in the hull.

Turning the sails to face it head on, nothing left but a crusty smile and yellow teeth reflecting the light in an attempt to finalize the quest. A sip from the jug of rum with one hand at the helm, flying straight into the eye of the hurricane fomenting at the idea that it’s an adventure of growth you’ll never truly overcome.

Sincerely,
Nagolbud

Philosophy of the Rake

External Validation vs Internal Joy

Many people waste their time chasing societies pre-determined validation escalator, an evolving ladder where each rung seems to present another. Ever reaching for something that can never be achieved, and if it is, it’s never worth the squeeze.

Accomplishing one step just leads to the demands of another, grabbing and pulling into the oblivion of self induced slavery. Wondering when the success or feelings of joy enter, another step is required to get there.

This is the difference between internal joy and external validation, hoping to impress others for some sort of cookie as your own interests get left behind. When confidence and actions are driven by something you value, joy is that feeling received upon hard work and personal values.

This is the eternal trap of society, autonomy and self-expression are lost for the wants of the many. Forgetting who we are, one day waking up with grey hair looking in the mirror. Success doesn’t have to come from years of providing the answers, sometimes it’s as easy as raking a few leaves and starting a fire. Pondering the questions can be more rewarding when we reach deep into the back of our minds, finding conclusions to things we’ve never entertained.

When it comes to the party we call life, sometimes it’s best not to invite the mosquitoes, a little smoke and a raked yard keep the blood suckers away. Today, I think I’ll call that a win, grab my fishing pole and kayak, trying my luck on the ocean. Perhaps a quick picnic with the chickens as we foment a plan to paint that big ol’ table when we have some time.

Sincerely,
Nagolbud

Critter Casas and Serpent Attacks

The thing I like most about homesteading will always be the outlet of fun and creativity that comes along with trying to grow your own food, raise animals, and provide proper setups for everyone along the way. The challenge always presents itself when you least expect it..

Mowing the lawn is usually quite relaxing, enjoying the breeze walking along, until you hear a squwaccck from the edge of the jungle. Running over, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Sure enough, a giant boa lay on the fence line wrapped around my helpless little chicken. Eyes giant as she looked up at me wondering what the heck was going on.

With no choice but to run for my machete, I started swinging at the snake without hesitation. Being careful not to hit the little lady, the snake finally let go and she was able to run off with her life. Angry at this attempt to kill one of my critters, I started slashing until the nasty thing slithered off into the jungle. Not sure if I killed it, but if I had gotten it on the spot, it would have been dinner for me and the dogs.

Here are some pictures from around the farm this week, designing and setting up a nice little rabbit house and a chicken ladder to provide a nice safe habitat for my buddies. Enjoy the pictures!

Sincerely,
Nagolbud

Into the Jungle

When Society Only Demands

Sometimes I contemplate the fun I’ve had creating this website. Has anyone even figured out the ruse in front of them? Did my random writings lead to the awakening of a normie running on the ant hill treadmill? Probably not, just another crazy person ranting on the internet.. Creativity dead in a world that worships status and materialism until they’ve got nothing left to give. A world revolved around narcissism, my own mentality is the only thing that society seems unable to accept. Trying my best, tomorrow I disappear into the jungle in an effort to find something worth willing to give. Good luck fellow adventurers, I’ll see ya when the zombormie apocalypse guides you to the jungles of Mexico.

Sincerely,
Nagolbud
